Project Manager / Business Analyst

The Business Analyst/Project Manager shapes client expectations, and manages contracts and scope related to the project. You will be responsible for the overall success of a project, requirements definition, and quality assurance activities.
As Business Analyst/Project Manager you will be responsible for the time and resource management, financial planning, scope management, issue and risk management, project execution. You will plan, direct, and monitor the work produced by the team(s). You will manage stakeholder relationships, including general, ongoing communications, negotiation of scope and schedule changes, key risks, issue resolution, and ongoing progress reporting.
Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between functional users and technical staff in the development or modification of  information systems. You will lead in the definition of user business requirements, assure requirements are appropriately addressed in application implementation, and redefine business processes to maximize application usage as required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall accountability for enabling the Software Development and UX teams to successfully deliver projects, complete application enhancements, and prioritize incoming tickets; providing work management oversight to ensure the development team is working efficiently and effectively on the company’s highest priorities.
  • Leads business partners, stakeholders and internal teams’ members in the process of analyzing business requirements, developing and delivering solutions that are aligned with business, UX and IT strategies.
  •  Effectively shares knowledge, deliverables, and lessons learned with colleagues across the organization.
  • Provides day-to-day project leadership and decision making on multiple projects especially pertaining to iteration scope, schedule, budget, and resources. Ensures business deliverables are completely satisfied, on time and within budget.
  • Produces reports on assigned project deliverables to keep management apprised of project status, major issues, scope changes, resource changes and milestone achievements or misses. Ensures project documentation is complete and communicated (e.g. user stories, use cases, test plans, deployment documentation, release schedules, status reports, etc.).
  • Resolves conflicts within and across development initiatives between resources, schedules, budgets, priorities, etc. Drives accountability and cooperation between internal teams and business stakeholders. Serves as the liaison to the customer for the development and UX teams.
  • Manages 3rd party vendors (as necessary) as an integral part of the team’s activities. Holds vendors accountable, communicates on their performance, and escalates issues as necessary.
  • Monitors requests/issues from the various areas and works with the appropriate group to resolve and close tickets.
  • Coordinate client workshops, gather and document business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Support our clients through an end to end process to design, agree and deliver their future requirements
  • Leading playback sessions, scope/user story walk through’s to client stakeholders
  • Support testers in defining testing coverage, validation of test scenarios and any clarifications
  • Contribute to business case developments and proposal preparations
  • Create and deliver presentations to senior client stakeholders and internal leadership teams

Skills and Experience

  • 4-5 years job-related experience
  • Experience working with Project Management software
  • Strong working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle Process, including Agile and Waterfall methods
  • Experience in understanding business requirements and translating them into technical requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective analytical, documentation and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills; ability to tailor communication to different audiences
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to manage work on multiple projects with competing priorities
  •  PMP or PRINCE2® certification will be considered an advantage
